Nuts and Bolts
Andy teaches one on one lessons to all ages from beginners to advanced students, in a variety of methods and styles, depending on the student's wants and needs. He is equally at home teaching children and adults who have never played guitar before, to more experienced players who want to learn more advanced techniques and styles to take their musical abilities to the next level.
Andy can teach a wide variety of different guitar styles, ranging from rock/pop, blues, country, jazz and finger-style, and has a vast number of songs in his repertoire in which to draw from and pass on to his students. He is also more than happy to teach songs that his students bring along to him, and actively encourages them to do so, as he has found this is one of the best ways to learn and improve on the guitar.
For the more advanced or those who just want to brush up on their music theory, Andy has a thorough understanding of chords and how they're built, scales (modes) and how to use them, jazz standards and playing through the changes and chord scales, in which you really learn the nuts and bolts of how to improvise over any given set of chords.
Aside from the practicalities of learning guitar, Andy can share his gained knowledge of live performance from his wealth of experience of playing gigs with those who are ready or wanting to start playing in front of a live audience.
Whether you're a beginner just starting, or have been playing for years, Andy has something to offer everyone.
